nom nom nom!

I have recently been introduced to the wonders of dining. Not fine dining with all the uppity wines and stuff, but something fun, casual and relaxing.

The Hairloom & Caramel at Shaw Towers (Opposite Bayview Hotel). :)

I'm sure some of you may have been there. It's under the huuuuge starbucks sign at a not-so-exciting looking building.



The interior is an amazing fun place - kind of reminds us of Alice in Wonderland. It has a rather rustic quality to its whole design as well. The splashes of colour, mismatching accessories and decorations make the dining experience fun and enjoyable.



I love how they have no standard looking utensils and cutlery. Plates do not match with cups do not match with teapot do not match with saucer. They range from old-school floral printed, to cool artistic single coloured ones to traditional chinese wedding dishes (like huuuuge dishes - they used one to contain the cupcakes!)

Speaking of which, the dessert there is to die for!



Peanut butter and jelly! With a generous amount of creamy peanut butter at the top, paired with a tinge of lemon flavour at the bottom, the cupcake has dense pastry and is not too dry or too sweet. :)



If you're a fan of creme brulee, this is one you should try. A thin layer of sweetness decks the top, followed by rich and creamy heavenly paradise! Served warm, this dessert has a lasting aftertaste which will have you craving for more!

There is another dessert called the Bread and Butter Pudding. I can't find the picture on the website. But it's great! Thick toast spread with thick creamy butter, topped with smooth vanilla ice cream, in the midst of a warm sweet vanilla and cinnamon sauce! Now, you don't need a picture to tell you that THAT tastes awesome!

Beside desserts, Caramel serves great lunchtime specials. Cheap and affordable too - daily specials are only at $5.50! Sandwiches and pastas are served in generous portions. Quick and great service too!
